Signs of separation anxiety
- Barking, howling or whining when you leave or shortly after.
- Destructive behavior near doors, windows or crates.
- Accidents in the house despite being potty trained.
- Drooling, panting or pacing, and following you from room to room.
Anxiety is not disobedience
A dog who panics when alone is distressed, not spiteful. Punishment usually makes anxiety worse. The work focuses on building calm, confidence and structure.
How Jacob approaches it
Jacob starts with your dog's history and routine, then builds structure, independence and calm through daily work in his home. The Advanced Obedience & Behavior Modification program is designed for anxiety and difficult behavior, with a detailed handover for continuing at home.
A note on severe cases
Severe separation anxiety can involve medical or veterinary support. Talk with your veterinarian if your dog is hurting itself or cannot eat or settle, and share what you know with Jacob.
